My body wishes to be utilized, walking amongst pine trees. Deep breaths and a trusty ax to chop wood. My feet in motion, carrying me upon the Earth. Mist curling through branches cooling my skin. The sounds of my breath and foot steps cushioned within the forest. Millipedes moving across an old mossy stump. Birds maneuver overhead. Rays of light filter down to the leaf covered ground of mud. There are puddles distributed amongst the leaves left over from last night’s rain. And I walk. My heart pumping. I brush my hand gently against trees and bend to witness mushrooms pushing their way up. A lone ant traverses my sight, on her own mission. Purposeful, swift, and determined.
