Mara is currently working with the New York City Police Department on special assignment to portray individuals suffering from mental illness during focused training scenarios on empathetic handling of such cases in the street.

*

She has been working closely with Blue Panther Productions about several of her projects, namely her play, PASSAGE, which is in discussions for an Off-Broadway run; as well as develop a film version.

PASSAGE premiered in NYC with the  New York New Works Theatre Festival, curated by Gene Fisch, Jr. (producer of HIGH on Broadway, which starred Kathleen Turner).

It was also showcased, along with her one-act, PROTECT THE CHILDREN, at the LA 2Cent's Theatre Group's Acting Out INK Fest, March 17-19, 2017!

 PASSAGE

Passage explores the  questions of what completes us as human beings, spirituality, and the power of our sexuality.

Synopsis: A man ready to die views death (and life) differently after an encounter with the Death Doula hired to euthanize him,  on the night he plans to die.

*

PROTECT THE CHILDREN

Synopsis: Kendra protects precious collateral for those who’ve made criminal deals they weren’t prepared to handle; until she faces the dilemma of wanting to keep something for herself and ending her life of secrecy and fantasy. Or is she simply creating a new fantasy? Who's actually protecting who, or is it all a facade? And how do we cope in a world filled with violence, mistrust, and greed?
